“Impressionism; it is the birth of Light in painting.” Robin draws inspiration from this quote by French artist Robert Delaunay (1885-1941).

About the Artist

Born in Tupelo, Mississippi, Robin Monroe earned a degree in Interior Design from Mississippi State University. She adopted Huntsville as her home 34 years ago when she moved there for an interior design position. Robin's background in design has allowed her to explore many interests, including photography, which has opened doors for her in the art community. She currently paints with a cohort of local artists, Act II, which supports the artistic development of its members, and advocates for the arts and artists.

Artist Statement

“Painting with oils on canvas is my medium of choice, and I strive to achieve impressionism through light and shadows on the canvas. I want to paint light! That is exactly what drew me into painting.”
