Robin Monroe

“Impressionism; it is the birth of Light in painting.” Robin draws inspiration from this quote by French artist Robert Delaunay (1885-1941).

About the Artist

Born in Tupelo, Mississippi, Robin Monroe earned a degree in Interior Design from Mississippi State University. She adopted Huntsville as her home 34 years ago when she moved there for an interior design position. Robin's background in design has allowed her to explore many interests, including photography, which has opened doors for her in the art community.

Robin was the featured artist for the 2022 Liz Hurley Ribbon Run. Her original painting, which was printed on 6,000 race shirts, is now in the permanent exhibit at Huntsville Hospital's Breast Center. Her paintings have also been exhibited at the Huntsville Museum of Art Gala for several years.

Artist Statement

“Painting with oils on canvas is my medium of choice, and I strive to achieve impressionism through light and shadows on the canvas. I want to paint light! That is exactly what drew me into painting.”
