“Each piece of art I have created is incredibly unique and provides a distinctive challenge. I am honored to share my art with all who view it and hope the viewer can associate each image with their memories.”

About the Artist

Jared Knox is an Atlanta-based artist with a passion for the outdoors. His work, most often depicting wildlife, is both powerful and peaceful. Layers of exaggerated acrylic color emit an exciting feeling that mimics a one-on-one experience in front of the depicted subject. Bold brushstrokes and palette concepts combined with his desire to achieve a high level of realism offer a unique take on subjects that have been painted for centuries.

As a child, Jared had a paintbrush in hand, quickly finding an interest in pop art and paperweights. He made drawings of everything he saw, and when he was not drawing, he was outside hunting or fishing. As time passed, art became second to studying and sports. Jared played football and tennis for the high school team, and at Auburn University he studied mechanical engineering with plans to work for his family’s company. However, his junior year of college, he felt a need to find a job that would allow him to travel for the sake of taking his faith overseas as a missionary. After praying and searching, Jared realized that his passion for artwork was not without reason.

Upon graduating from Auburn in May 2021, Jared began working with several galleries across the southeast. He was named “Best of Cobb: Artist” in his first year out of school. He has done artwork for businesses across the country, created countless commissions, and partnered with men’s clothing store Onward Reserve. He created the artwork for the Georgia Fishing License and partnered with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources for several other projects. He has won the Alabama Wildlife Arts Competition and gathered several other accolades along the way. Most recently Jared received Soul Grown Alabama’s 2024 Soul of the South Award for Artists and Makers, representing the “very best of Alabama and contributing to a positive outside perception.” As Jared advances in his career, he continues to leverage his life for the sake of sharing the gospel both overseas and at home in Atlanta.

Artist Statement

Jared says his goal in creating is to celebrate the magnificence of nature, and more importantly, the One who created nature itself: “This ability to create has been an incredible blessing, and the only proper response to receiving this gift is to worship God with it. God the Creator is the ultimate artist, and we can only hope to glorify Him by making reflections of what He has already created. My art is a celebration of His love and majesty.”

Jared’s work can also be seen at The Sportsman’s Gallery and Paderweski Fine Art in Nashville; Whiteside Art Gallery in Cashiers, North Carolina; and High Country Art in Blue Ridge, Georgia
